Picture Your World for Teachers
Nature Photography lead by Carra Garza from Green Spaces Alliance on October 24th from 9 AM- 12 PM: Exploring Composition, Light, and Environmental Awareness is a hands-on professional development workshop designed to help art educators explore photography as both an artistic medium and an instructional tool.
Participants will begin in the gallery with an introduction to photography fundamentals, including composition, point of view, lighting, focal points, and visual storytelling. Participants will also learn how to operate the cameras provided for the workshop.
Following the introductory lesson, participants will take a photography walk along the San Antonio River, applying the concepts introduced during the lesson while observing the natural and built environment. The workshop will conclude with a collaborative critique, reflection, and discussion of ways photography can be incorporated into classroom instruction.
This workshop will be located in Gallery 115 at BlueStar, a map will be emailed out to all attendees before the workshop.
